Establishing of Vellore Central Council

In 1978 with three  conferences, Society of St. Vincent de Paul put its step in the Vellore Diocese. On 11th Nov 1985 with 11 conferences, Vellore Particular council was formed. In 1990, with 13 conferences  Tiruvannamalai  Particular Council and  with 10 conferences the  third chetpet particular council  in 1992 were  formed.  On 10th Dec 1995 with 34 conferences Vellore central council was established and instituted on 25th Dec 2001. Bro Thangaraju and Bro. T. Joseph Pandian the former National president  under the able guidance of His excellency   Most Rev. Dr. A.M.Chinnappa, performed the inaugural function of Vellore Central council.

With the wishes of Most Rev. Dr. P. Soundar raju , Bishop of Vellore, initiated more number of conferences  and additional  Katpadi , Polur, Tirupattur, Vettatalam, Thanipadi  Area councils. Presently  89 conferences and 8 Area councils including 40 are twinned Nowadays only 20 are twinned with England Walse, Australia and Scotland. Cow and goat, revolving projects, mini projects Medical help Educational Scholarships and Disaster help are disbursed periodically. Fully concentrating adopted families  youth and School goers.

Most. Rev. Dr. Msgr. I.John Robert  Vicaiate General cum Spiritual Adviser of Vellore central council Rev. Fr. Jayaprakash, Director of Sodalities of Vellore Diocese, support us for the effective Vincentian services. Bro. Jude Z Mangalraj President, National council of India and Bro. A. Santiagu  Manikkam Secretary National Council of India Bro, S. Velladurai, TRC coordinator, Bro, Edinbrow Komagan, TRC Secretary, their positive approval for continuing  Vincentian activities.

Bro. Anthony Kemburaj at the inaugural Bro. M. Irudayaraj , Bro. A. Periyanayagam, Bro. A. Dominic,  Bro. M. Charles Arockia raj and at present Bro. S. Preiyanayagam. are Central council President have been performing the valuable services.

The  Society and  Objectives
  • Vincent de Paul Congregation is an ecumenical registered congregation operating under the administration of Paris (France) and Mumbai (India).
  • Helping the poor and needy and guiding the abandoned to improve their lives by themselves,
  • To better develop youth and school students in their individuality (skills) and achieve in competitive examinations,
  • Educational, medical, sick, aged, refugees, and needy are the activities of the Society.
  • Vincent de Paul Congregation can track all activities in person and online to maintain a record of receipt, and audit of their valuable donations.
  • Introduce themselves in meetings, training,  seminars of the council with their permission.
  • Prayers of thanksgiving for their kindness and generous donation.
  • Van Routine Home is run by the council at a low cost of nine (9) rooms for the accommodation of out-patients who come from far away to C.M.C Hospital near Wiruthampattu Bus Stand.
