WOMEN’S SEMINAR 2024
The National Council of India Women’s Seminar, organized by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, took place at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre Paalana Bhavana in Bangalore on January 27th and 28th, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Petre Machado, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese Bangalore, in the presence of National President Bro. S. Jude ZR Mangalraj and Vice President Bro. Dr. A. Francis.
Approximately 85 women representatives participated in the two-day seminar, representing various regions of India. The program commenced with the National President Bro. Jude Mangalraj hoisting the flag, followed by the participants conducting a Bible Enthronement ceremony in the Seminar Hall.
The seminar included a variety of activities, such as traditional dance performances, lectures, and discussions on important topics. Bro. S. Jude Mangalraj addressed the role of women in society, while other sessions covered core values of Vincentians, women empowerment, spirituality in Vincentian life, the importance of vision, effective leadership, and empowering the underprivileged.
Several distinguished speakers, including Bro. Francis Victor and Bro. Maria Francis, shared their insights during the seminar. Representatives from different regions presented reports on their activities. Rev. Dr. George Kannamthanam explained the Eye Donation Project, which was inaugurated by NCI President Bro. Jude Mangalraj.
The seminar provided a platform for participants from various regions to understand and appreciate the diverse cultures, languages, and performances. Workshops, such as a candle-making demo by Andhra and Telangana region, aimed to empower underprivileged areas.
Collage presentations and group-wise quiz programs encouraged discussions on Vincentian values, helping the poor, and uplifting society. The cultural programs and discussions explored ways to involve more women volunteers in society and improve activities for the betterment of the community.
The two-day event concluded with a meditation for spiritual awakening led by Sister Jolly Sebastian, followed by a Rosary procession. Prayer sessions were conducted by various representatives, and Sr. Mattilda from Trichur CC expressed words of appreciation. The NCI president honored participants with a momento, extending prayerful greetings for their dedicated service. The seminar concluded on January 28th, 2024, with lunch.
